Christine Padilla is a San Mateo County native and has been employed by the United States House of Representatives since 2005. She is currently a Senior Field Representative for the Office of Congresswoman Anna G. Eshoo. Previously, Christine served as a Senior Field Representative to the late Congressman Tom Lantos, who served as chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee. Prior to her career in government, Christine was an Executive Director for a non-profit arts organization, and held several leadership positions organizing and promoting film festivals, music endeavors, theatrical performances and community-building projects.

 

Christine uses her expertise in event planning, marketing and project building to demonstrate her dedication, passion and commitment to public service and the community. She is a founding organizer of the Asian Heritage Street Celebration, the nation’s largest pan Asian Street fair held on the third Saturday of May in San Francisco, and has served as the Celebration’s Program Director since 2005. Christine is also an active member of the Bay Area community, serving on the San Francisco-Manila Sister City Committee. As a member of the San Francisco Manila Sister City Committee, she has traveled to the Philippines as a delegate with the Honorable Gavin Newsom. Christine served on: the Board of Directors for Women’s Intercultural Network, as a member of CORA-Community Overcoming Relationship Abuse Kumares’ Domestic Violence Awareness Taskforce, as an officer for the Filipino-American Democratic Club of San Mateo County, and was a founding organizer for South Bay First Thursdays.

 

In 2008, Christine received the Pacific Asian American Women Bay Area Coalition’s (PAAWBAC) Monarch Leadership Award and continues to devote her time to community organizations and campaigns focused on social justice issues. The San Mateo County Board of Supervisors appointed her to serve on the Commission on the Status of Women in 2011, she served as Vice President in 2012 and was elected to serve as President for 2013. Christine holds a degree in American Studies from the University of California, Santa Cruz.
