Shweta Bhatnagar is public affairs expert with years of legislative, government affairs and community relations experience at the federal, state and local government levels. She currently is the Associate Director of Community Relations at Stanford University, responsible for government and community interactions with numerous cities and counties in the Bay Area. She maintains strong relationships with community-based organizations, government officials, businesses and neighborhood associations.
In addition to serving as a Commissioner on the San Mateo County Commission on the Status of Women, Shweta serves as a member on the Advisory Board for the San Mateo and Redwood City Chamber of Commerce Leadership Program and on the Board of Directors for the Palo Alto Chamber of Commerce.
Prior to Stanford University, Shweta was the Government and Community Relations Manager at the San Mateo County Transit District, representing SamTrans, Caltrain and the San Mateo County Transportation Authority. She holds a Bachelor’s of Arts degree in Political Science and Economics from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas and a Master’s in Public Administration from George Washington University.
